Something fun
The Slush Pile
Every press has a drawer of titles that almost made sense at 2 a.m. Ours is a matter of public record.
Books we will (probably) never publish:
- The 5 A.M. Club for People Who Went to Bed at 4 — a one-page book. The page says "no."
- Tell Me Your Wi-Fi Password, Grandpa — an heirloom for the modern family.
- The Youngest Child's Guided Journal — 96 blank pages. He'll be fine. He's thirty-one.
- Atomic Vibes — build a system of tiny, compounding moods.
- The Sensory-Friendly Guide to Fireworks Shows — we tried. It's earplugs. The whole book is earplugs.
- Eat, Pray, Log — a spiritual journey in tracker form, 1 to 10 scale.
- Dad, Please Just Answer One Question — the abridged edition, one page, laminated.
Got a worse one? We collect them: hello@newriverpress.com,
subject line "SLUSH."
